Broken Doll

An exhibition by Veronica Mauri as part of the FotoFreo Fringe Festival displayed intriguingly on ostrich eggs by way of Polaroid lifts.
A digital image was printed onto fine art paper,
and then shot with a large format camera loaded with Type 59 film.

The image was then separated from its backing by submerging in boiling water and placed on the eggs very carefully to avoid tearing. As the film is no longer in production, the eggs themselves are highly collectable and are editions of one only.

Displayed as a Window installation at the Behind the Monkey store, the Broken Doll exhibition coincides with Easter. In keeping with this theme Veronica Mauri will also be hosting and serving a celebration of chocolate treats to mark the exhibition display at the shop between 11am-1pm on Easter Saturday, 3rd April.
